Meet the DogWatch Office Dogs
Every day is “Take Your Dog to Work Day” at DogWatch’s corporate headquarters in Natick, Massachusetts. Whether they are sitting by our sides while we work, napping during our meetings or encouraging us to get moving on our lunch breaks, the DogWatch office dogs are the best (and cutest) co-workers we could ask for! Here’s a quick introduction to some of our fun-loving, unique and totally adorable office dogs.
Biz
Biz is a four year-old English Labrador Retriever who is “all business” when it comes to her two favorite things: exploring the outdoors and begging for treats. Luckily for her, she gets to do both everyday, thanks to her lunchtime walks at a nearby nature preserve and the generosity of her human co-workers. Biz recently moved from the big city to the suburbs, and she loves being able to run around in her new backyard. And she now she can run leash-free and stay safe, thanks to her new SmartFence!
Brodie and Lucy 1
With his long body, floppy ears and big furry paws, Brodie the Dachshund has the most recognizable gait of all the DogWatch Office Dogs. Whether he’s chasing a squeaky toy or following his mom Tricia around the office, you can always hear the sounds of Brodie’s distinctive trot before you even spot him at your feet. When Brodie’s not on the move, he prefers napping – either on his mom’s lap or on the comically over-sized dog bed he has claimed as his own. Does Brodie see himself as the king of the office? Why, of course he does, and his office buddies don’t seem to mind one bit.
Brodie’s older sister Lucy 1 shares her brother’s love for naps, but she prefers to take hers on her tiny bed atop her mom’s desk. The senior Bichon Frise is the grand dame of the DogWatch Office Dogs, and definitely enjoys being pampered with lots of treats and head scratches. Lucy 1’s mom Tricia prefers to keep her tiny pup near her desk during the work day, as she is a little too small to safely roam around busy hallways. By setting up a wireless IB-100, one of DogWatch’s Indoor Boundaries, Tricia can be sure that Lucy 1 won’t wander away from her desk and into trouble. Now they can both rest easy and enjoy the workday!
Lucy 2
The office’s other Lucy is Lucy 2, a 9 year-old Pug-Miniature Pinscher mix (also known as a “muggin”). Lucy 2 has appointed herself as office security guard, and makes a point of greeting every unfamiliar mailman, customer and family member who steps through the front door with her unique grumpy grin, featuring her trademark underbite. Lucy 2 likes to talk – a little too much, at times. The BarkCollar helps her keep her barking under control during office hours. Which is great, because it turns out that when she’s not barking and grunting, Lucy 2 is a total sweetheart. She especially loves it when kids and grandkids stop by DogWatch for a visit. Don’t let the toothy stare fool you; she’s a licker, not a biter.
Gizmo
Gizmo is our youngest office pup, and has been visiting DogWatch HQ regularly since he was 3 months old. The now 3 year-old Papillon is a bundle of energy, and loves to play with the many assorted dog toys that make their way around the office. But it’s not just his bouncy spirit that stands out – Gizmo also sports his breed’s trademark wide and fluffy ears. (Papillon means “butterfly” in French.) A good trait to have in a office filled with hungry pups and yummy people food come lunchtime! “Is that the sound of potato chips? Can I have one?”
Mollie
Mollie the poodle mix rules the roost over at the manufacturing and shipping side of DogWatch headquarters. Rather then wander around the office, she prefers to stay by her mom Bernie’s side. But that doesn’t mean she won’t greet visitors and show off one of her many tricks. Sit, down, check. Roll over, check. You name it, she’ll do it, and expect a tasty treat as a reward. It’s only fair, right?
Nellie
Nellie, a five year-old Australian Shepherd, is the office glamour girl. Just look at that smile, and all that hair! She’s also a big fan of hugs, and has been known to jump in the laps of her human coworkers when she wants a little more attention. (And no, she’s not a mini Aussie, she’s a full grown, 40+lb pup.) Nellie comes from a family of Aussie fans – she has two Aussie “cousins” that she regularly plays with on the weekends. Her cousins are country pups, but when city girl Nellie stops by, she puts on her DogWatch Hidden Fence collar and joins in on the outdoor fun!
Toby
Toby, a nine year-old Pomeranian, holds the title of fluffiest office pup. He’s always surrounded by a cloud of cream-colored fur, and his graceful gait would look right at home at the Westminster Dog Show or on a fashion runway in Paris. Despite his fancy looks, Toby doesn’t mind getting a little dirty. He has been known to run around in mud puddles and take a dip in a nearby pond. But mom Madge is happy to let him explore his rugged side, because thanks to the BigLeash Remote Trainer, she knows she can call him back to her before he gets in too much trouble. After all, with his coat, there’s no hiding those mud stains!
Lily
Lily the 6 year-old English Mastiff is easily our largest office dog. In fact, at 150 lbs, she is the largest dog most of us at DogWatch have ever met! Despite her imposing exterior, Lily is a very gentle dog, and gets along with everyone in the office, both human and canine. Lily is also the newest DogWatch Office Dog, and she made quite an impression on her first day. Check out this video of our resident tough girl Lucy 2 meeting Lily for the first time!
We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know the DogWatch Office Dogs! We are so glad to share our office with our canine friends. After all, “it’s all about your dog.®”
